North West
A vast area of grasslands which houses two of the country’s largest game reserves, the world’s largest playground and a world heritage site

The North West region’s inland location and vast grasslands provide the perfect setting for a number of wildlife reserves. These include Madikwe, South Africa's fourth-largest game reserve, and the Pilanesberg National Park, both home to the Big 5 and many more indigenous mammals and birds.

Magaliesberg, Hartbeespoort and Pilanesberg are popular weekend retreats where paragliding, windsurfing, water skiing and jet skiing activities attract hordes of visitors. Another of the region’s attractions is Wondergat, an extensive underwater cave network; the perfect playground for skilled divers.

Standing tall against the rural expanse is Sun City, the world's largest playground, where amongst its attractions is the Lost city; one the world’s most unique hotels, the Valley of the Waves playground, the exceptional golf courses, the casino and entertainment centre, its theatres and a huge choice of fantastic restaurants to choose from.
